funny,

I used to …
funny,

I used to hate this song way back in the day. Now that I listen to it 20+ years later, it’s actually one of their better tunes. The song itself doesn’t sound as dated as their other hits. Can’t say the same for the video lol

I’m 27 years of age …
I’m 27 years of age so in truth I missed the 80′s first time round but the first video I ever owned was Back To The Future. To this day I think there is something wonderfully charming about the John Hughes, Brat Pack, Michael J. Fox era of Cinema. We don’t get any Ferris Bueller or Marty McFly’s anymore. Their charm is permanent. And here Michael J. Fox (opposite Supergirl ) in his pomp, taking on Manhattan from the mail room up. Let Cinema ensue. Brilliant. And an iconic Power Ballad to boot.

spcfsu – Agreed – …
spcfsu – Agreed – it was great growing up in the 80′s. There are a lot of detractors saying it was all bad music, bad fashion, etc. – but for those of us who lived it, it was great. It certainly was a of a lot more upbeat and positive than the pre-packaged boy-band / girl-pop-singer and other crap that passes for entertainment and “music” today. Old? Nah… “Age is a matter of feeling, not of years.”

This is awesome but I don’t think it’s possible to ‘get it’ unless you grew up with it. Now I’m going to keep drinking and youtube loads of dodgy 80s cartoons too.
