Turn low self esteem into self confidence.

By Self Help Guru On September 2, 2009 Under Self Improvement

VIEW HIQUALITY when it shows up, the low quality video sucks, lol. I’m trying to adjust my settings for the widescreen so please excuse the videos in the meantime!

Define who you are to the world, don’t let the world define you. So often we take what others say so seriously that we lose who we are as individuals. I’m just sharing some issues I had with this in the past and what I realized in order to change it. You are the architect of your own destiny! Believe that!

some of them was …
some of them was real ugly, fat, big ol’ lips, and even stunk, but i did not make fun of them. they were not a beauty queen. like they could’nt be made fun of. they had rights, and i didn’t. it’s hard to take care of yourself when you have this feeling.

i just don’t give a …
i just don’t give a fox how i look no more. i can’t wear earrings and cosemetics and feel confident like other women. and i’ll tell ya, huh, i’ve seen some pretty ugly women out there. i was thin as a dime, had a nice hair for a black girl and sho was not UGLY. i aint ugly at all like the average women. i look
pretty good to be a black female, cause most of them i seen looks like . them kind is the ones that kept me down all this time.

the principal calls …
the principal calls my parent, then i get it when i get home. i always have to keep a shut mouth. sometimes my i even get cussed and called names by my own parent. if anyone went through what i went through, they wouldn’t care about themself either. the only thing i will do is take baths or brush my teeth, sometimes i don’t feel like caring for my teeth. i’ve thrown my hair away and everything along with my hair. i can’t wear earrings and stuff and wear trendy clothes.

it’s hard to care …
it’s hard to care about yourself when your level of self worth is low. people say things harsh enough to bring god down form the heaven above. i’ve let people bring me down very low. the ugliest have called me ugly in school so when i insult them back or fight them back, i always get sent to the principal’s office. my classmates can defend themselves or express their opinion of me and i couldn’t.
i never bother anyone in school. i mind my own business.

i’ve heard it all. …
i’ve heard it all. i ‘ve had bad things said to me about me and called bad things.for some, that’s what causes not feeling good about yourself. i will b the first to tell you that when you have a low self esteem,
nothing seems to matter about yourself. i
used to care about my appearance until i got about 14 years old.

I had similar …
I had similar experiences, too. I was a “nerd” in junior high who got teased & physically bullied for reading too much, wearing glasses & being different. In time, I learned to love & accept myself, but for years, I had a fear of rejection by others. My distance was often mistaken for arrogance since I no longer looked like a “nerd.” It was a difficult process but I finally overcame it. As long as we like who we are, what others think doesn’t matter. To me, it no longer matters.

Pinky2D4,
I felt as …

Pinky2D4,
I felt as if you were speaking directly towards me in this video. You really hit home when you said that we really have to stop caring what others think. We must focus on ourselves and ignore the haters. I am one of those who severely lacked self-confidence growing up. This was due to the fact that I was picked on as a child. None of it was physical, just verbal….but it hurt just as much. I thank you so much or posting this video and very happy to have come across it.

What did I say? DO YOU! lmao. I’m sure that you would add other angles to any topic, go ahead and take the plunge! Perhaps do some response videos here and there to feel more comfortable. It’s scary at first but then you get in the swing and all is well. We all have something to contribute here.

I’m glad you made …
I’m glad you made this video, a good friend once told me never dim your light for anyone else to blend in, if your a star then shine dammit lol, you always make great vids. I’ve been evaluating the fact that I still have some social issues, once I identified with it I now have to sit and figure out who, when, where, how and why. Its all a learning process in life, some of chose to do something about it and some chose to be oblivious
