Let the floss glide thoroughly on the top, bottom, sides of teeth then place it beneath the gum line until the gums resists without a painful sensation.

The professor explains that while bleeding can occur at the first time you use dental floss, there is not a thing to worry about. As you keep on brushing, the bleeding will stop at about two weeks time and your gum health will improve. Dental floss must be used frequently by adults and children alike once permanent teeth is in place.
